In order to make this web site accessible to as many people as possible it has been built using web standards and best practice web accessibility guidelines. Not only does this ensure that the web site will work in all modern, standards based browsing devices, but it also makes this web site easier to use for those with disabilities.
The Internet standards organisation (The World Wide Web Consortium or W3C) publishes standards and guidelines with a view to ensuring long-term growth for the Web. As part of this remit they have published guidelines for developing accessible web sites known as The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines or WCAG.
Where possible the web site has been built to comply with all Priority 1 and Priority 2 WCAG checkpoints while addressing many of the Priority 3 checkpoints.
