Ffermio 'Fleeced'!

Minister for Rural Affairs, Elin Jones A.M., launched a new web-based game called FLEECED at the Ffermio stand at the Royal Welsh Show on Monday, July 21st at 2:00pm. The game, created by Wiresprite and Telesgop, has been produced to launch Telesgop's coverage of the World Sheep Dog Trials for S4C. This world event will be held at Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo between the 11th and 14th of September this year. More information on the trials can be found by clicking here.

Fleeced homepageWiresprite are five highly motivated graduate students from the digital media course of Swansea Metropolitan University. Dyfrig Davies, Director of Operations at Telesgop met the students on a visit there back in April whilst looking for new talent for Telesgop. "I was impressed by the standard of their work, the fun element within the game they had produced and also the attitude of the graduates. All positive and I knew it would be great to work with them".

The game FLEECED has three levels - and the object is to use the virtual dog to herd the sheep into a pen (very much like sheepdog trials). Level one is on the green fields of Wales but level two takes the international theme on board and is in New York, whilst the third takes us to Norway. The more sheep you pen and then shear - the higher your score.

Fleeced screengrabFrom August 1st the game will be available to play here on the Ffermio website and will be free to use. "The challenge is greater with the different levels - and not many people who have tried the game to date have succeeded in conquering the third level!" said Darren Adams of Wiresprite - one of the developers of the game.
