David John Wood was the highest placed Englishman in the competition. He came ninth with a score of 561.5 with his bitch Moe.
10. Kevin Evans 549
Kevin Evans from Libanus, Brecon was the only man to have 2 sheepdogs in the final. He came tenth with his 4 year old dog Spot. He is a builder by trade and he won the International Sheepdog trials in Abergele in North Wales earlier in September.
11. Gethin Jones 542
Twenty two year old Gethin Jones from Llangollen , representing Wales, came 11th in the tables. He scored 542 points with his 5 year old bitch Eira. This was the farmer’s debut at the World trials.
12. Kevin Evans 503
With his second dog, Mirk, Kevin Evans from Brecon in Wales claimed the 12th position in the final with 503 points.
13. Nigel Watkins 496
In 13th position with 496 points was Nigel Watkins from Llangadog with his 7 year old bitch Floss. Nigel came within a whisker of winning the 2002 World Trials in Bala, being beaten into second place by half a mark with his dog Peg. He has won the Welsh Championship twice and has come second twice. He was celebrating his birthday on the day of the final, and it was his sheep that were used throughout the trials.
14. Richard Millichap 453
It was the Welshman, Richard Millichap, who claimed the 14th place with a score of 453 with his 8 year old bitch Taddymor Cap. The farmer from Rhondda has won the International Trials twice and won the television contest ‘One Man and his Dog’ in 2001.
15. Ged Watson 383
Ged Watson from England came in 15th place with his 7 year old dog Eryri Rock. His score was 383 points. This was the first time he had competed in the World Trials. He could have competed for either Wales or England as he splits his time between Devon and Brecon in Wales.
16. Jim Wilson 336
New Zealander Jim Wilson came 16th in the Trials with his dog Tweed. He scored a total of 336 points.
