1. Aiden Gallagher 410
Aiden Gallagher from Ireland was competing with his 9 year old dog Bill and came first in the semi-final round with 410 points. He is a sheep farmer by trade and is a past winner of the Irish Sheep Dog Trials.
2. Nigel Watkins 406
In 2nd position in the semi-final with 406 points was Nigel Watkins from Llangadog with his 7 year old bitch Floss. Nigel came within a whisker of winning the 2002 World Trials in Bala, being beaten into second place by half a mark with his dog Peg. He has won the Welsh Championship twice and has come second twice. He was celebrating his birthday on the day of the final, and it was his sheep that were used throughout the trials.
3. Meirion Jones 395
It was the local favourite from nearby Maesybont that claimed the third position in the semi-final round with 395 points. He was competing with his dog Joe. The farmer come agricultural contractor has played an integral part in organising the trials in his role as the Chairman of the Trials.
4. Aled Owen 395
Aled Owen took the fourth position in the semi-final round with 395 points. He was representing Wales with his dog, Roy. The farmer from Corwen is an old hand at competing in the Trials. He won the World Sheep Dog trials held in Bala in 2002.
5. James McGee 392
It was the Irish Captain, James McGee, who claimed fifth spot in the semi-finals with 392 points with his 5 year old bitch Becca. James hails from Creggan , near Donegal in the Republic of Ireland and has won the Irish Sheepdog Championship twice in 2005 and 2007, and he came second in 2006.
6. Kevin Evans 388
Kevin Evans from Libanus, Brecon had 2 sheepdogs in the semi-final. He came sixth with his 4 year old dog Spot. He is a builder by trade and he won the International Sheepdog trials in Abergele in North Wales earlier in September.
7. Karin Mattsson 382
Seventh place in the semi-final round went to Karin Mattson from Norway with 382 points with her 7 year old bitch Sammie. Karin is originally from Sweden, but she met her partner through trialling and moved to be with him in Norway. He also competed in the trials in Llandeilo. She has been training sheepdogs since she was 11 years old.
8. Stuart Davidson 372
Stuart Davidson from Scotland took 8th position in the semi-final round with his five and a half year old dog Jim. Sixty year old Jim is an old hand at this sport and has won the Scottish Championship 5 times in the past. He has also won the International Sheepdog Trials, but this was the first time he had competed at the World Trials.
