Twenty two year old Gethin Jones from Llangollen , representing Wales, came 9th in the semi-final tables. He scored 366 points with his 5 year old bitch Eira. This was the farmer’s debut at the World trials.
10. Kevin Evans 364
With his second dog, Mirk, Kevin Evans from Brecon in Wales claimed the 10th position in the semi-final round with 364 points.
11. Richard Millichap 359
The Welshman, Richard Millichap, was competing twice in the Semi-final round. He appears here with his 8 year old bitch Taddymor Cap who helped him gain 359 points. The farmer from the Rhondda has won the International Trials twice and won the television contest ‘One Man and his Dog’ in 2001.
12. Jim Wilson 359
New Zealander Jim Wilson came 12th in the semi-final round of the Trials with his dog Tweed. He scored a total of 359 points.
13. David John Wood 359
David John Wood from England finished 13th in the semi-final rounds with a score of 359 points with his bitch Moe.
14. Ged Watson 359
Ged Watson from England came in 14th place in the semi-final round with his 7 year old dog Eryri Rock. His score was 359 points. This was the first time he had competed in the World Trials. He could have competed for either Wales or England as he splits his time between Devon and Brecon in Wales.
15. Ron Snoeck 354
Ron Snoeck from the Netherlands came a close second to Aled Owen with his 6 year old bitch Nell. Only one merit point separated him from being crowned the Champion with his score of 643. This was his third World trials. He has won the Continental Sheep Dog Trials twice and The Netherlands International Championship three times, twice with Nell.
16. Tony Ottesen 349
One of the two who represented Denmark in the Semi-final was Tony Ottesen. He came 16th with a score of 349 with his 4 year old dog Bob. Bob is the son of Serge Van der Zweep’s dog, who represented the Netherlands in the trials and Aled Owen’s bitch. Tony won the Scandinavian Championships this year.
